      • Impact

Impact our community and world with Christ’s love!

Most of us would say we’d like to have an impact on someone during our lifetime; to make a positive difference in some small way.  Hopefully, that impact is first felt at home within our own families.   But as we interact each day with friends, co workers, neighbors and our community do we make an impact?

We often think that impacts are made quickly during a momentous occasion, but I believe we can impact others by simply taking our eyes off of ourselves.  Galatians 5:13 says,

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.  But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

Let’s not use our freedom to buy “bigger and better stuff” indulging only ourselves, but “serve one another humbly in love”. Let’s take our eyes off of ourselves and take a look around.  That is how we will ultimately impact our community, both locally and abroad.

God has a place and a plan to use each one of us.  Are we willing to put someone’s needs before our own?  To reach out to someone who is hurting that may not know that Jesus loves them?  We have the privilege to be His hands and feet.  Still think God isn’t big enough to use you?  Galatians 5:14 goes on to say, “ For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as  yourself.” Start small.  Say “hello” to your neighbor and smile.  Pray for them and an opportunity to love and serve them.  Just wait and see what He will do through us as we “serve one another humbly in love.”
